Eastern Sydney Escarpments
Camera: Hasselblad 500C Film: TX-400 location: Sydney, NSW Country: Australia
As I ventured East, my 1960s Hasselblad 500C in hand, I embarked on a photo safari paying homage to the legendary Ansel Adams. The Eastern Sydney escarpments, with their rugged terrain, sea mist and dramatic vistas, inspiring me to capture their beauty in black and white, just as Ansel had done with the American wilderness.
With each composition, I aimed to emulate his dedication to detail and his pursuit of perfection in monochrome landscapes using timeless techniques such as zone system and high aperture. Like he used to say: photographs are made not taken.
This series is not just about capturing images; it is about paying tribute to a master and immersing myself in the natural wonders of this remarkable landscape that I am fortunate to call home.
